Here we have a 1998 Ford SVT Contour. I personally never knew this was a real thing. Its #3972/4485. 5 Speed manual, 2.5 litre V6 engine (thanks Rolland!), 120,000 miles, all for $3000. Seems rather cheap. What do you think?

As I keep looking at this thing, it grows on me more and more. Midnight blue leather interior looks in good shape. It even has original SVT floor mats! AC blows cold (supposedly). Seems like it might be kind of fun.

Whats also really cool is the dealer is awesome! They unlock EVERYTHING and let you touch! I was in a brand new S8 and 911 Turbo S! And a Panamera GTS Executive (say what you will about looks on the outside; but inside.... its incredible)

My friend's mom had one and it was a fucking blast. Totally unassuming but the Contour was actually the 2nd Gen Ford Mondeo and the SVT V6 makes pretty good power.

Yeah the SVT Contour is awesome until it needs service, because working on that engine is impossible! It received high praise from Car and Driver and other magazines when it was new, and it may have made their 10 best list.

Some people like to swap in the 3.0L Duratec V6 from the Taurus of the same era. Same power, but more torque.

DOES NOT have the SHO Yamahammer- first of all, the SHO V6 was 3.0 or 3.2 only. 2nd of all, that shit in the contour is a duratec V6, as seen in 26 valve sable or taureses.

And not to rub it in, but they are calling for like 350 cars; they contacted the local Lambo dealer to bring new stuff; the Lotus dealer to bring stuff; and of course the rich guys from Casey Key and up... Ferrari F12, Mclaren MP4-12C (maybe even a P1; I heard someone owns one here!); tons of AMG Mercs.. then the crazies; BMW Issetta, old TVRs, etc...

It's still just the very best version of the very worst car. Honestly, for the 3000 range I'd get a mid 2000s Taurus with the same or less miles. Much better car.

4cyl power with V8 fuel economy. The Water pumps are notorious for lunching themselves. They do handle well, and the exhaust note is pleasing. I briefly owned one at much too young of an age, and I had a lot of fun. If you go to check it out, ask a out the water pump and check the bushings connecting the shift linkage to the transmission. The shitty rubber bushings like to disintegrate, which can cause the linkage to pop off the transmission, leaving you stuck in whatever gear you are in at the time.
